DreamLeague Season 11 Qualifiers Preview
DreamLeague Season 11 is the 3rd Major of the Dota Pro Circuit for the 2018 – 2019 competitive season. It’s also one of the final 3 tournaments that really count in the battle for obtaining a direct invitation to The International 2019.
DreamLeague Season 11 is scheduled to take place in Stockholm, Sweden between March 14th – 24th. But until then, regional qualifiers for the event will be held all around the world, in 6 different regions. And these qualifiers will decide who gets to take part in the tournament. The Qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 11 are taking place between February 1st – 3rd in some regions and February 4th – 6th in others. Here are the most important teams in every region.
The battle in Europe takes place between 8 teams but only 6 of them are relevant and even fewer have a real chance to qualify. These 6 teams are the following:
- Team Secret
- Team Liquid
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Vega Squadron
By far, the greatest chances of placing among the top 3 teams who will qualify for DreamLeague Season 11 are Team Secret, Team Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas. However, last time Alliance took the 3rd place and unless NiP have solved their gameplay issues, this might happen again. As for OG, I don’t think they have any real chances, as they haven’t even managed to complete their roster so far.
In the CIS region, Virtus.pro, Gambit Esports and The Pango are the top contenders. Although let’s not forget about Natus Vincere and Winstrike Team, who are also in the race. With regards to the first place, I think there’s no point in assuming that anyone apart from Virtus.pro can be the champion of this race. The only real question is: who will get the 2nd ticket for the Major? And so far, it looks like Gambit Esports will be the most likely winner.
In North America, 8 teams are trying to claim one of the top 3 spots that guarantee a participation at DreamLeague Season 11. But only 4 of them are serious candidates. These are Evil Geniuses, Forward Gaming, J.Storm and compLexity Gaming. And it is almost a certainty that Evil Geniuses and Forward Gaming will go through. The only thing that’s in question is who will claim the 3rd ticket? J.Storm or compLexity Gaming? Probably J.Storm.
In South America, almost nobody can stop Infamous and Chaos Esports Club. So you should definitely expect these 2 teams to claim the 2 reserved qualification spots.
In Southeast Asia, Mineski, TNC Predator, Fnatic and BOOM ID are the 4 relevant competitors. And it’s quite clear who will get the tickets for the Major. It will be Fnatic for sure and either Mineski or TNC Predator. Based on what we’ve seen recently, I think Mineski is the stronger candidate.
And finally, we have the Chinese battle, out of which 3 teams will emerge victorious. The most likely candidates to succeed are Vici Gaming, EHOME, PSG.LGD and Team Aster. Apart from PSG.LGD, any 2 of the other 3 could move on.
