Main contenders

Virtus.pro

Virtus.pro is already qualified for The International 2018, sitting at number 1 in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings table with 7872 points. The team is now just trying to prepare for TI and should be regarded as one of the main contenders at any event. This season, Virtus.pro has won so far 3 Majors, 1 Minor and 1 other massive tournament outside of the Dota Pro Circuit, namely World Electronic Sports Games 2017. They’ve also had 4 top 4 finishes in other competitions.
Going into EPICENTER XL, Virtus.pro is expected to get a top 4 finish.

Team Liquid

Winner of the last two editions of EPICENTER, Team Liquid will attempt to do the impossible and claim a 3rd consecutive title. Kuro and his teammates are currently sitting at number 2 in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings table with 4734 points and have had a great season so far, winning 3 Minors and getting 6 other top 4 placements.
Given the team’s formidable roster and the psychological boost it gets from knowing it’s won the previous two EPICENTERs, I’m definitely expecting Liquid to have a deep run at this event.

Mineski

After several months of absence and poor results, Mineski has recently resurfaced with a completely new way of playing Dota, no doubt inspired and mentored by its new coach, Tang “71” Wenyi.
This man is none other than the former coach of that EHOME roster which placed 2nd at the first edition of The International.

Mineski team

With his help, Mineski won the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 Major, taking everyone by surprise.
Right now, Mineski is sitting at number 4 in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings table and is expected to keep up its level of play in the coming months.

Team Secret

Team Secret won 3 tournaments this season (2 Minors and 1 Major) and is currently sitting at number 3 in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings table with 4710 points. Puppey’s team has not been in the best form recently but considering the individual quality of its players and the captain’s vast experience, it’s very likely that Puppey will make special preparations for EPICENTER XL and will come up with some winning strategies.
