Supercars brings its second esports series with the 2019 Gfinity Supercars Eseries

After a successful first year, Supercars partnered with Gfinity Esports Australia in order to take their event – previously called Virgin Australia Supercars Championship to a whole other level this year. This time around, they are also teaming up with the world’s leading online racing simulation service: iRacing.

This subscription-based racing sim is incredibly popular and one of the most highly regarded for its accuracy and realism. Naturally this makes for the perfect partner for Supercars – along with several others, of course. These include the twelve teams that are going to be entering the 2019 competition.
These teams will partially be supplied by Supercars themselves, and partially by other high-profile brands. The first external team has already confirmed their participation – specifically, Boost Mobile Racing announced that they wanted to participate. In the next few weeks, more teams are going to announce their participation in the event.

If you want to watch the esports series featuring Supercars, you can do so fir free on Supercars.com as well as on the Supercars and Gfinity AU social media channels, and also on Twitch. Gamers can make it onto the Eseries team grid by doing well in the Gfinity Supercars Eseries open qualifiers.
From these qualifiers, the participating teams choose their drivers – with thousands of iRacing competitors in Australia, this competition is expected to attract some of the best sim racers in the entire country.

This is further amplified by the association with Gfinity – the company has been a driving force behind Australian esports for a very long time, and has previously allied with even bigger names, including Formula 1. As for this tournament though – as mentioned, twelve teams will pick one talented driver each, and they will compete on their behalf throughout eight rounds in order to win the 2019 Gfinity Supercars Eseries title on behalf of their team.

In order to participate in the games, you will need to sign up to the competition – the registration period for the open qualifiers start in July this year. While there isn’t yet a lot of information on the process, you will most likely need to be an Australia-based iRacing user.

For the time being, you can sign up for more news and information on the 2019 Supercars Eseries on eseries.supercars.com – by doing so, you can get notifications about new information if and when it becomes available!
