Treyarch to Unveil New Call of Duty Black Ops 4 on May 17
Call of Duty is the second most popular first-person shooter after Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, when it comes to the frequency and magnitude of tournaments. In addition to being an esports phenomenon, the game is also popular among people who enjoy the single-player format. Each year, a new installment is released for one of its main series. 2018 is the year of Call of Duty Blacks Ops 4 and on May 17 Treyarch will unveil the latest game in the popular franchise.
Call of Duty Blacks Ops 4 developers and publishers managed to keep the details under wraps. This means that the juicy details will be known only on the day of its official release. At the same time, with this new title, the franchise will make yet another firm step towards esports. Several sources indicate the fact that this will be the first game in the series that will launch without a single player campaign. This represents a steep departure from the formula used for a decade and it generated mixed reactions.
Multiplayer & Zombies Rock CoD Blacks Ops 4
This is an action-packed week for Call of Duty fans, with the 2018 CWL Pro League Stage 2 also starting on May 15th. The latest release from Treyarch has ditched the single-player campaign in favor of more co-op missions and zombie modes. The same company has developed Call of Duty: World at War and all the previous games in the franchise. Famous for their preference for futuristic will warfare, Treyarch are expected to draw the new release along the same lines.
In anticipation of Call of Duty Blacks Ops 4 the fans can watch the games broadcasted live from MLG Arena in Columbus. 16 of the best teams in the world will participate in this event for hundreds of thousands of dollars and tens of thousands of Pro Points Series. This year’s edition is played on Call of Duty World War II, but in 2019 it will focus on the game unveiled on May 17. It is only expected to hit the stores later this year, most likely in October.
Treyarch Breathes New Life in CoD Blacks Ops 3
While everyone is waiting to see what the new installment will bring, Treyarch has unleashed more content for the previous game. Operation Swarm brings about new and revamped maps, more weapons and games played by different rules. Some of the guns available in the original Black Ops game such as the RPK have returned with an extended mag. The Sten submachine gun is also available with more rounds to fire, which make it deadly from up close.
New Call of Duty Blacks Ops 3 specialist themes are also available. This will allow players to outfit their specialist and customize characters to stand out from the crowd. All these new additions to the popular game are a part of the Operation Swarm content expansion. Players who log into their accounts get a special Operation Swarm Calling Card and twice as many XP points.
