The biggest fighting game esports are represented year-round at big events, with different countries and cities having their own tournaments. However, the top fighting games go past just these isolated events. They have larger circuits where those who the events get to take things on in a big end of year LAN. The FighterZ World Tour is one of the most exciting out of these circuits.
Along with the Arc World Tour catering to Guilty Gear and newer Arc games, Dragon Ball gets its own special wider circuit. As one of the most popular anime fighting games, FighterZ attracts a wide audience. The FighterZ World Tour is the biggest international event for the game.
The FighterZ World Tour is a series of Majors throughout the year which culminate in a Grand Final. That’s where the very best international players meet and fight it out, to find the best FighterZ player for each given year.

FighterZ World Tour Format
As a wider circuit, the FighterZ World Tour has a lot in common with tournaments like the Capcom Pro Tour. It’s a series of Majors throughout the year which run as independent tournaments. However, placement at these tournaments gives players points on the wider circuit leaderboard. That’s along with players receiving direct invites based on winning a Major.
Each of these majors usually gives one player a slot at the World Tour Finals. On top of that, there’s a Last chance Qualfiier where another player can secure their spot for the end of year event.
Qualifying Tournaments
Some of the qualifying Majors for the FighterZ World Tour are already underway. With events like FighterZ at EVO, we’ve already seen tons of players compete in this circuit for the year. However, the full circuit has hasn’t its entire roster of tournaments announced just yet.
So far, the earliest two Majors as part of the Tour have been announced. EVO will be one of the tournaments on the very highest level the Power Plus tier. VSFighting XI will also be part of the tournament. The circuit is due to run until early 2024. We’ll likely see a similar number of tournaments over the next few months join as events too.

FighterZ World Tour Players
Since these tournaments span the whole world, there’s tons of potential player who compete each year. Out of those though, only 16 typically move through to the finals. Nobody’s got their spot at the finals secured yet. However, we’ll start to see who is making it to the World’s climax after EVO concludes.
The World Tour is always a highlight of the competitive calendar for this game. We’ll have to see which other tournaments join the roster for this season, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more events get added to the FighterZ World Tour. Eventually, also when we begin to get details of the Grand Finals too.
