Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship (M3) – Format, Teams & Event Rewards

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) World Championship (or M3) returns December 6th. Live from Singapore between December 6-19, the international flagship tournament features 16 teams and $800,000 in combined prize funds.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has over one billion installations and millions of active monthly users. Currently, it is among the top 10 most played in over 120 countries. MLBB Esports has grown year upon year since its 2017 release. The previous M2 World Championship hit over 3 million peak-concurrent viewers, and the upcoming event seeks to surpass these numbers with fresh and innovative content for viewers. You can catch the tournament on all MLBB media platforms and earn special event themed rewards.

M3 World Championship Format & Teams

M3 features 16 global teams, from 11 different competitive regions. All teams earned their invites through either Regional Leagues or qualifying Majors.

Teams were pre-drawn into four competitive groups, and will play out a single round robin bo1 round, before being seeded into a double-elimination Playoffs bracket. The top two teams from each group will be seeded into the Upper Bracket, while the bottom two will have to start their run through an elimination gauntlet from the get-go in the Lower Bracket.

The regional representatives in attendance are: RSG SG, EVOS SG, TEAM SMG, TODAK, BLACKLIST INTERNATIONAL, ONIC PH, RRQ HOSHI, ONIC ESPORTS, RED CANIDS, KEYD STARS, SEEYOUSOON, NAVI, BEDEL, MALVINAS GAMING, GX SQUAD and BTK.

Will we see continued dominance at M3 from the usual suspects in ONIC ESPORTS and BLACKLIST INTERNATIONAL, or will the new regional contenders in NAVI, BTK and RED CANIDS rise up to the challenge?

The latest region to join the circuit was North America, represented by BTK. They won against Generation X in the regional finals in a dominating 3-1 series. Now, in their first World Championship event, Victor, FwydChickn, SHARK, MobaZane, and ZIA are competing for their share of the prize pool, and a chance to put NA MLBB on the competitive map.

We also have to watch out for Natus Vincere, another esports heavy hitter that recently joined the MLBB competitive ecosystem. Earlier last month, they acquired the roster of Unique DeVu (Defender, Nagib, Sunset Lover, Lil, SAWO), a roster that will represent the CIS region for their second time. They are our dark horse to watch at this event.
