The MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI) 2024 is set to be the biggest edition of the all-female esports tournament in its history. This time, the tournament is taking place at the Saudi government-backed Esports World Cup 2024 in Riyadh from July 25 to 28.

While esports has traditionally been male-dominated, MLBB is a game that attracts thousands of viewers for its all-female esports tournaments as well. The MWI 2023, for example, achieved a peak of 179,000 viewers, per Esports Charts. Additionally, the all-female MLBB tournament in the SEA Games 2023 achieved a record-setting 1.3 million peak viewers.

Thus, the 2024 edition of the MWI is set to be bigger than ever. It will take place after the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) in the Esports World Cup. Twelve teams from around the world will be participating, as they fight for the bragging rights and a share of the $500,000 prize pool. What is the format for the MWI 2024?

  • Twelve teams will compete in the MWI 2024 across the Group Stage and the Playoffs.
  • In the Group Stage, the 12 teams will be evenly split into four groups and will compete in a round-robin format. Each match will be a best-of-two.
  • The top two teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs.
  • In the Playoffs, the eight teams will battle it out in a single elimination bracket to determine the MWI 2024 champions.
  • The quarterfinals will be a best-of-three. The semifinals and the grand final, on the other hand, will be best-of-five affairs.

MWI 2024: Full Prize Pool Split

The $500,000 prize pool will be split between the 12 teams as follows:

  • Winner: $250,000
  • Runners-up: $80,000
  • Third and fourth place: $37,000 each
  • Fifth and sixth place: $16,000 each
  • Seventh and eighth place: $12,000 each
  • Ninth to 12th place: $10,000 each
