Bio

Michael has worked in the esports and gaming industry for six years, and as a professional writer for almost a decade. Starting his career as a marketer, after two years writing about cars, coffee machines, and cable TV, he decided he had to promote something he actually cared about - namely video games. After applying for every single job in esports he could find in late 2018, just a single writing gig gave him a chance. Since then Michael has written about every esport around, from Apex Legends to Rocket League, but his favorite thing to cover is still Dota 2. Michael has interviewed industry professionals, pro players, and casters, broken stories, and covered world-renown events. Since 2021 Michael has also covered FFXIV, WoW, and MMOs, drawn in by his love of raiding and boss fights. He’s also covered general gaming and created guides for hundreds of titles. A lifelong gamer, born with a keyboard and mouse in-hand, when he’s not writing about games, or traveling to cover esports tournaments across the globe, he enjoys heavy metal, light reading, hot climates, and cold beer.
