How to unlock Heroes in Age of Empires Mobile
The primary way to unlock Heroes is by completing the main quests in the game and participating in the major events. Thankfully, you can also get new heroes from the tavern as well.
When it comes to upgrading them, we recommend taking crucial factors into account such as the Unit Type and their Style.
Be sure to check out the Age of Empires Gift Codes for free rewards as well.
Keep in mind that a troop can include up to 3 heroes but their military power bonuses are maximized only when their unit types and styles are a perfect match. Therefore, focus on training heroes sharing the same unit type and style to create a powerful lineup.
Many players have rightly complained that this game is just another generic base-building mobile game with a very weird opening backstory (an armored princess teams up with Joan of Arc to find a missing Roman sword that was stolen by the Mongols). Of course, AOE 2 and 4 had distorted Joan of Arc’s history in more subtle ways by showing her fighting, which she herself had contradicted (during the fourth session of her trial when she said she stayed out of the fighting and carried her banner instead, confirmed by numerous eyewitness accounts); and she also denied calling herself a commander since there was always a nobleman in command. I suppose at least a completely invented story about a missing Roman sword is at least better than a form of historical falsification that people might accept as valid.
