Black Ops 6 To Feature Insane Movement Mechanics
It was recently claimed by a leaker that Black Ops 6 will have unparalleled movement mechanics known as ‘Omnidirectional Movement’. This is reportedly a term being used to describe a series of fluid movement-based actions: sliding, diving, and sprinting. Per the claim, players will be able to perform any of these actions while moving in any direction, which could mean that Black Ops 6 is the most agile Call of Duty yet. Could it be more energetic than the ‘jetpack era’ of Call of Duty?
For years, Call of Duty players have been flexing their in-game skills in the movement stakes. From slide cancelling to tactical diving and from sprint-based tricks to finding spots by abusing movement mechanics, everything has been on the table and there for players to soak up. This latest leak suggests that things will change dramatically in Black Ops 6, with Treyarch and Raven Software introducing the ability to move more aggressively and fluidly than ever before.
Next-Generation Movement
Despite being rooted in realism thanks to the Gulf War-themed setting, the expectation is that Black Ops 6 will push the boundaries of what’s ‘acceptable’. There are whispers of a controversial 9/11-themed mission mixed in alongside fantastical weapon blueprints that are straight out of the game’s Zombies mode. The fusion will see players undertake missions during the Gulf War in Iraq, hunting down Saddam Hussein, while at the same time slide cancelling and diving around the game like acrobats.
It’s a weird mix, but that’s what we’ve come to expect from Call of Duty in recent years.
On June 9, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to be revealed in full by Activision Blizzard. Through an exhilarating showcase, the team will broadcast both single-player and multiplayer-based content, unveiling the entire game that so many millions of players are eagerly awaiting. In recent weeks, countless leaks have surfaced, revealing the game’s prestige system, some weapons, base mechanics, and the general setting for the game – but nothing is concrete until the big reveal on June 9.
There are high expectations for Black Ops 6, which has reportedly been in development for several years. It was in 2020 that the last Black Ops game was released, and this legendary sub-series is what Call of Duty players live for.
