BLAST Among €60m of Esports & Gaming Investments in Malta
Esports tournament organizer BLAST is among several companies investing in esports and gaming in Malta, with the country announcing eight projects totaling €60 million.
In a press release, Malta’s Economy Ministry detailed the investments, which are expected to create 1,300 jobs.
BLAST is finalising its Malta registration and preparing to bring major events to the islands, committing €10 million ($11.5 million) over the next three years.
In addition, Imperial, one of Brazil’s largest companies, has announced that Malta has been chosen as the location for its main European office, which is set to open this December.
Last year, the ESL Pro League also returned to Malta to mark the start of a three-year partnership extension.

Maltese Youth To Gain New Career Opportunities
In the video game development sector, Unity has also committed to investing in education and training in Malta.
Additionally, Gentoo Media will expand its team from 70 to 130 workers after investing €1.2 million in upgraded facilities.
Meanwhile, digital marketing firm Clever confirmed plans to establish new offices in Gżira with a €6 million investment, while also putting €1.5 million into NARC, a video gaming venture.
Minister Silvio Schembri said these investments will enable young Maltese people to benefit from high-quality career opportunities being created in this emerging economic niche.
iGaming Companies Scale Teams and Infrastructure
Within the iGaming sector, Soft2Bet has invested €20 million over four years, opening its offices in Mrieħel with the goal of training more local workers interested in the sector.
By the end of the year, another company, Religa, is expected to expand its workforce from 200 to 700 employees, with a total investment of around €21 million.
The company Eeze also announced a €30 million investment covering offices, training, and technological equipment, and stated that it will increase its number of employees from 500 to 1,200 by the first quarter of next year.
Investments Part of Malta Vision 2050
Gaming Malta CEO, Ivan Filletti, said that “The iGaming Council provides a vital forum for key operators within the industry to openly explore and discuss jurisdictional opportunities and ecosystem initiatives.
“Today’s Council witnessed the unveiling of major investments — from new esports organisations and office expansions to enhanced operations and talent development initiatives. Together, these milestones signify a strong and forward-looking ecosystem, fully aligned with the Malta Vision 2050.”
Malta Vision 2050 is a long-term national development plan published by the Economy Ministry earlier this year.
It aims to consolidate over 30 existing strategies and more than 1,800 initiatives across various sectors into a single, coherent framework.
