Call of Duty League Announces 2026 Season Schedule, Format & Changes

The Call of Duty League has announced the full schedule for its 2026 season, confirming when and where competition will take place as teams prepare for another year of action on Black Ops 7.

The announcement outlines key dates, event hosts, and any major changes to the league’s format ahead of the new campaign.

The 2026 season is set to begin on December 5 with the opening of Major 1 Qualifiers, with 4 Major LAN events throughout the year, as well as the annual CDL Champs and an appearance at the Esports World Cup 2026.

CDL 2026 Event dates & locations

Several cities have been confirmed as hosts for in-person events, including two events in Europe. The location for the Call of Duty League Championship has been confirmed as Vegas, where the top teams will compete for the 2026 title and their share of the prize pool.

Here’s the full rundown of each Major:

  • Major 1: Dallas (Hosted by OpTic Texas)
  • Major 2: Birmingham (Hosted by DreamHack)
  • Major 3: Atlanta
  • Major 4: Paris (Hosted by Gentle Mates)
  • Call of Duty Championship: Las Vegas (Hosted by Vegas FaZe)
  • Esports World Cup: Riyadh

There will be some small changes to certain events this season, however.

Major 2 in Birmingham is going to feature just eight teams, as first reported by esports.net back in September.

In more positive news, Major 3 in Atlanta will include a Pro-Am Classic, with four top Challengers teams being given the opportunity to compete against the world’s best in a 16-team tournament.

Call of Duty Returns to Twitch

This season, the league will be streamed live on both YouTube and Twitch, officially marking the end of the CDL’s exclusivity agreement with YouTube and broadening its potential viewership base — a move that is already being celebrated by fans online.

Watch Parties will also be free to host on either platform, as opposed to previous years when they were confined to YouTube.

New Third Game Mode Replacing Control

After several years in the rotation, Control is being replaced as the third game mode in the Call of Duty League.

As well as the popular mainstays in Hardpoint and Call of Duty, the newly-created mode Overload will be played by pros and in Ranked Play, which is due to arrive in Season 2 of Black Ops 7.
