Call of Duty Reveals $1.2M Warzone Resurgence Series LAN Events & Format
Activision has announced a brand new competitive Call of Duty series, bringing a more formal circuit to battle royale with the Warzone Resurgence Series (WRS). The series will feature LAN events, a $1.2m prize pool, and a grand finale at the Esports World Cup in July.
The series kicks off on February 9, with months of online and LAN competition planned across North America and Europe, before concluding at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this summer.
WRS is built specifically around Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence, using a trios format and a points-based scoring system that rewards both eliminations and placement. It will look very familiar to those who watched the very popular Warzone EWC tournament in 2025.

Two LAN Events Before EWC
The road to the championship will include two major mid-season LAN events, hosted at DreamHack Birmingham and DreamHack Atlanta – both alongside professional Call of Duty League competition, too, with the events serving as Majors 2 and 3.
In both regions, the season begins with open online qualifiers, followed by closed qualifiers that determine which teams advance directly to each LAN final. The top five trios from North America and Europe will earn automatic qualification to the Birmingham and Atlanta LANs, while additional squads will have a second chance via open bracket play.
Each DreamHack stop will feature a $100,000 prize pool and direct qualification spots to the WRS Championship on the line.

EWC Finale for $1 Million
Following the Birmingham and Atlanta events, remaining teams will be decided through Championship Qualifiers, with full details to be announced at a later date.
The season will then conclude from July 29 to August 1, as 32 qualified trios compete across four days at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh for a massive $1,000,000 prize pool and the inaugural Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence Series Championship title.
Registration for North America and Europe is already open via FACEIT, with players required to be at least 18 years old and meet all eligibility criteria. Team Pass details for the Birmingham and Atlanta Opens are expected to be revealed soon.
