Cloud9 Signs ex-Fortnite Pro to Call of Duty League Team
Cloud9 have signed a former professional Fortnite player, who last competed in Fortnite tournaments in October 2025, to their Call of Duty League team, marking a significant change of pace for both player and team.
In February, Cloud9 New York announced that they were completely cleaning house in their COD League team, following a string of disappointing results.
That left them in the market for a whole new team and, given reports that they were aiming to cut the league’s lowest-paid team’s salary by half, that definitely ruled out some of the most sought-after options.
So Cloud9 looked at a rung below the top Challengers talent, and have brought together a rag-tag group of young players that likely weren’t expecting their opportunity to come right now.
Okis Becomes COD Pro After Just 4 Months
One of those players is Arnel “Okis” Avdagic, a well-known name in the Fortnite scene, who played his last tournament there only a few months ago.
Since then, he’s switched to Call of Duty and made a quick name for himself, having represented Stallions Black, the team owned by former pro Thomas “ZooMaa” Paparatto, since Black Ops 7 launched.
Within 3 months of being picked up by a Challengers team, Okis now finds himself in the Call of Duty League, ready to represent the team for CDL Major 2 and beyond.
Okis’ Teammates
He will be playing alongside Encourage, Nejra, and Hide, all of whom have more competitive COD acumen, though you would be lying if you watched Okis play and said he looked very far behind his teammates.
Encourage, in particular, was very highly rated in previous years, though a brief stint away from competing did bring his stock down somewhat.
How this team performs remains to be seen, but expectations are low considering none of them have pro level experience.
That said, early scrims haven’t looked completely devoid of promise, so there may be fight in this team yet – and Okis will have a lot to prove to the COD community too.
