This Is The Most Popular MW3 Weapon in the COD League So Far

In December, the Call of Duty League 2024 season kicked off, using Modern Warfare 3 as a competitive platform. It proved to be a slow start for Call of Duty’s top-most tournament, but in the coming days, the action will return in earnest following a festive-fuelled hiatus, and the first Major is just weeks away. In a recent stats reveal, it was made clear which weapon is dominating the COD League this season, as amid claims that it’s a ‘year for subs’, an AR has taken the crown with ease.

That’s right – the MCW is the most popular weapon in the Call of Duty League by the rate of kills. It’s a balanced, powerful, and precise weapon that offers near-unparalleled killing abilities, and some of the best COD players in the League are enjoying slaying out across every map in the pool, it seems. It has been revealed that a whopping 68% of all kills secured in the CDL 2024 season so far have been with the MCW.

In a post published on Twitter by ‘FaZeCoDMuse’, a breakdown of the MCW’s kill percentages was revealed. It was confirmed that a whopping 88.83% of all kills in Terminal HP so far were secured by a player wielding an MCW assault rifle. It gets more impressive, though – just 4.42% of kills were achieved with a Rival, which is the second-best weapon in the League. This season’s meta SMG was almost beaten by the Renetti, this year’s handgun of choice, at 3.45% of all kills.

It has been claimed numerous times that the CDL 2024 season is a ‘sub’s dream’, given how well-built the Rival-9 is. It’s a brilliant weapon with a high rate of fire, which makes it devastating up close. However, there are plenty of long sightlines across Modern Warfare 3’s maps, which is opening the door for AR players to shine. With the MCW in hand, these longer-range competitors are scooping up the lion’s share of all the kills recorded.

Here’s the breakdown posted on Twitter, showing the top five maps and modes by MCW kill percentage:

  • Terminal HP: 88.83%
  • Invasion Control: 80.06%
  • Sub Base HP: 79.26%
  • Highrise Control: 75.73%
  • Invasion HP: 71.94%

It seems that sub-players are doing better in Search and Destroy than in the core respawn-based modes when it comes down to the cold, hard statistics.
