Warzone Season 2 is introducing a significant Perk overhaul that could completely reshape how squads approach fights and rotations across the Call of Duty battle royale title.

Raven Software has reworked all three Slot 1 (Blue) Perks, replacing Veteran, Grenadier, and Cold-Blooded with more clearly defined, role-driven options. Rather than passive bonuses, the new Perks are designed to create clear advantages, encourage teamplay, and undoubtedly shake up the meta.

Alongside those changes, Scavenger has also been adjusted as part of a broader effort to rebalance Warzone’s economy.

Here are all the perk changes in Season 2.

Warzone S2 Perk Changes

Field Medic (Previously Veteran)

Field Medic is now a dedicated support Perk built around revives, heavily rewarding players who prioritise keeping their squad alive.

New effects:

• Revive teammates 25% faster
• Bleed-out duration increased by 25%
• Reviving a teammate:
  • Automatically equips them with one Armor Plate
  • Grants 5% Movement Speed for 3 seconds
• When you are revived:
  • Automatically equip one Armor Plate
  • Gain 5% Movement Speed for 3 seconds
• Resistance to Flash, Concussion, Gas, and Shock equipment effects

Drill Instructor (Previously Grenadier)

Drill Instructor shifts the focus toward momentum and aggressive squad movement, rewarding players who stay mobile and rotate together.

New effects:

• After sprinting for more than 1 second, health regeneration begins
• You and allies within 25 meters gain:
  • 3% Movement Speed
  • 15% faster mantling
• Buff persists for 10 seconds after leaving the radius
• Drill Instructor bonuses do not stack with other Drill Instructors

This Perk strongly favours squads that push as a unit, enabling faster rotations, cleaner follow-ups, and sustained pressure during engagements.

Surveyor (Previously Cold-Blooded)

Surveyor is an intelligence-focused Perk aimed at information control and map awareness, giving squads more tools to track enemy activity.

New effects:

• Enemies within 120 meters briefly appear on the map when they:
  • Use a Buy Station
  • Pick up a Contract
• UAVs you activate:
  • Have a 20% larger radius
  • Zoom your minimap out by 20%
• Downed enemies are outlined through walls within a 40-meter radius

Surveyor offers some of the strongest intel tools Warzone has ever attached to a single Perk, particularly for squads that communicate well and capitalize quickly on information.

Scavenger Adjustment

Scavenger also received a minor tweak in the Season 2 update.

Adjusted:

• Cash removed from the Scavenger Bag

“Scavenger has become a necessity due to the cash addition,” Raven said in the official patch notes. “In part to adjust the overall economy and its sources, this was a necessary change. This change moves Scavenger back towards its core identity, but this component could make a return in the future.”

Season 2 of Warzone and Black Ops 7 launches on February 5, and there are some big changes coming to Rebirth Island too.
