Counter-Strike 2 Goes Naval: Circuito FERJEE 2025 Lands on the NAM Atlântico
Circuito FERJEE 2025 will see Counter-Strike 2 take over the Brazilian Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier NAM Atlântico, while it’s docked at Pier Mauá in Rio de Janeiro.
The short event, set in one of the most unusual tournament venues in CS history, will bring some of Brazil’s best Counter-Strike teams to a setting normally reserved for military operations, not bomb defusals.

Circuito FERJEE 2025 – Who, What, Where and When?
Running from August 13 to 15, Circuito FERJEE 2025 will showcase four of Brazil’s top Counter-Strike teams:
- Imperial Esports
- Sharks Esports
- ODDIK
- RED Canids
We are missing Major-qualified squads like FURIA and Legacy. However, the lineup still features some of the strongest and most competitive teams in the region outside of the two giants who won’t be in attendance.
The four-team LAN event will compete for a prize pool of around $44,000 over a weekend. Fernando “fer” Alvarenga and Lincoln “fnx” Lau, two legendary Brazilian players and Major champions, will also appear on the analyst desk.
fer was part of the famous all-Brazilian SK Gaming roster, which won IEM Cologne 2016. The 2016 edition was a CS:GO Major, and ESL has recently revealed that the Cathedral of Counter-Strike will host the first CS2 major of 2026.
A Counter-Strike Tournament on a Ship
The venue for Circuito FERJEE 2025 is no ordinary stage – it’s the NAM Atlântico, the Brazilian Navy’s flagship and the largest active ship in its fleet. Commissioned in 2018, this bad boy is capable of carrying helicopters, troops, heavy equipment, and apparently, a full Counter-Strike tournament.
Esports has seen its share of bizarre and creative venues before – from the outdoor setup at Gaming Paradise 2015 to the FiReLEAGUE Buenos Aires 2025 finals, which took place on a subway station platform. But while those tournaments were certainly unusual, hosting one aboard a military warship is virtually unheard of – especially one as imposing as the NAM Atlântico.
Will They Play While the Ship Sails?
Surely this is a question on everyone’s minds. For anyone wondering – no, the ship won’t be cruising the seas mid-match. The ship will remain docked at Pier Mauá for the entire event.
So, there will be stable conditions for players, production crews, and spectators. There won’t be seasickness during overtime, and choppy waters will compromise nobody’s aim.
Military Connections in Esports?
While a Brazilian Counter-Strike event on a naval ship is something new, the intersection between armed forces and esports has precedent internationally.
The US Army Esports program has sponsored events and fielded teams, and even the Royal Navy in the UK has developed dedicated esports facilities aboard its own ships.
In this case, however, the focus appears squarely on creating a one-of-a-kind esports experience rather than a formal military outreach effort. However, showcasing the Navy’s flagship vessel to esports fans may attract younger applicants.
A Spectacle for Brazilian Counter-Strike Fans
Brazil has notoriously been one of the most passionate Counter-Strike regions in the world, producing Major champions and fan-favorite rosters. Though we won’t see any Tier 1 teams, Circuito FERJEE 2025 taps into that same enthusiasm, but adds a unique twist by bringing fans and players aboard the country’s flagship vessel.
Even if Brazilian Counter-Strike isn’t usually on your radar, the sheer novelty of the setting might be enough to make you tune in. It’s not every day – and we might never again see – an esports tournament played on the deck of a military flagship.
