Swedish wonderkind Liam “MaiL09” Tügel has achieved an incredible feat at the age of 16. After making it to the top of the FACEIT leaderboards in October, the rifling prodigy has now earned the highest FACEIT Elo in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) history.

With a whopping 5,412 Elo, Metizport’s MaiL09 stands head and shoulders above the rest, both in Europe and globally. The achievement sees MaiL09 break the record previously held by Team Spirit’s superstar, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets.

MaiL09 Demolishes Donk’s FACEIT Elo Record

In July, Team Spirit’s superstar rifler and 2024 Player of the Year, donk, set the record for the highest-ever FACEIT Elo rating in CS2 history, at 5,350. The record was utterly impressive, showcasing immense individual skill. That makes MaiL09’s record-breaking FACEIT Elo rating of 5,412 even more remarkable. 

A tweet from the official FACEIT account showcased the top 10 contenders in Europe as the season nears its end. 

Over the last 20 FACEIT matches, MaiL09 boasts a 60% win rate and an average kill-per-round ratio of 1.46. No wonder Metizport signed MaiL09 back in July as part of a forward-looking roster rebuild.

FACEIT Elo Rankings Update

With the season nearing its end, the race for the top spots tightens across every region.

Other notable top pros who’ve made it past the 5,000 FACEIT Elo rating include Team Falcon’s AWPer Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov (5,020), and rifling prodigy, 17-year-old Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin (5,010).

At the time of writing, donk is out of the top 10, sitting at 4,821 Elo after playing only two matches this week.

Some may argue that the Russian superstar doesn’t have enough time to set new records, since he’s playing one S-Tier LAN after the other with Team Spirit. However, that shouldn’t take anything away from MaiL09’s achievement, since he is competing against everyone, not just donk.
