Liquid and Eternal Fire to fight for CCT Global Finals 2024 title

In Collaboration with Thunderpick

We finally have our Grand Finalists in the CCT Global Finals 2024. We’ve seen a ton of awesome CS played, but now, with just two teams remaining, things just got real. Liquid and Eternal Fire will duke it out on the server tomorrow for all-or-nothing glory, but how did they get there? We’re taking a look at the Semi-Final matches at the CCT Global Finals 2024, to find out how we got to our two finalists!

Last time these two teams faced each other, it was at ESL Pro League Season 19, where Astralis ran out 2:0 winners. This time around, Liquid were able to exact their revenge, taking a close series 2:1. Astralis could’ve won the first map, which went to overtime, although the third was simply a blow-out, leaving the Danes stunned. If we’ve seen a few positive reference series from Astralis lately, this was a prime example of what happens when absolutely everything seems to go wrong.

For Liquid, this was the Canada show. Twistzz seemed to win every single duel throughout the series, and even dropped 40 kills on the opening map. Meanwhile, NAF was similarly impressive on maps two and three, and even got a few unlikely AWP highlights for the show reel.

Eternal Fire ease past GamerLegion

Eternal Fire looked a level above GamerLegion as these two teams went head to head. Anubis and Mirage were the stages, and Eternal Fire looked all too comfortable on both. This is a GamerLegion roster still getting to grips with one another after the recent addition of FL4MUS, so they might just need a little more time to cook. There’s some serious talent here, and it just needs refining.

For Eternal Fire, XANTARES led the way, topping the scoreboard on both maps. He’s having a hell of a 2024, and he looks set to continue that with a great showing at the CCT Global Finals 2024. We also saw more good form from Wicadia, who continues to enhance his reputation in Tier 1 despite being just 19 years old.

How will these teams fare on the server?

Going into the CCT Global Finals 2024 Grand Final, where Liquid will face Eternal Fire, we’re sure to have a banger series. This Final is a best-of-five, meaning it’s a real battle of the map pools. We’re almost certain to see Vertigo and Ancient banned leaving Dust2, Mirage, Inferno, Nuke, and Anubis left to play. Liquid boast a strong Mirage and Inferno in terms of map win percentage over the last three months, while Eternal Fire have similar statistics on Nuke and Anubis. This means that Dust2 could be a crucial decider here.

No matter what happens, the idea that we could be in for a full five-map Final is an exciting prospect. We’ll be sure to tune in!
