How To Get Infinite Money in CS2

In CS2, money and economy are crucial elements of the game. However, when practicing, you’ll often just want to use an AWP or other expensive weapons without actually building up your economy. It can be especially frustrating when you’re practicing smoke and nade lineups, and you don’t have the money to practice.

We’re going to show you how to use a CS2 infinite money command that’ll ensure you can learn how to get better at Counter-Strike without worrying about economy ever again.

CS2 Money Command: Step-By-Step

Players can only activate the CS2 money command through the in-game console, which must be enabled. You can do this through the game’s Settings Menu, under the Game category. Once there, you should ensure the ‘Enable Developer Console’ option is selected ‘Yes’. Once you have enabled this, you’re ready to use the CS2 infinite money command.

  • In-game, open the console using the (~) key.
  • Enter the command ‘mp_maxmoney 65535‘. This changes the maximum money you’re able to have at any time from 16000. Unfortunately, CS2 money caps at 65535.
  • Enter the commands ‘mp_startmoney 65535‘ and ‘mp_afterroundmoney 65535‘. This ensures that when you enter a private match your money remains at the maximum throughout, and you can practice as much as you’d like.
  • Optional: enter the commands ‘mp_buytime 60000‘ and ‘mp_buy_anywhere 1‘. This will allow you to buy anywhere on the map, at any time. You can then focus on what you actually want to practice, rather than having to make quick decisions about buys.
  • Restart the game for changes to take effect.

Voila! Your cash is capped at 65535, which in practice is virtually infinite. It’s a common practice used in Counter-Strike esports for the very best players to hone their skills on the server. Many of these players might also use a third-party program to spawn bots for them to headshot as fast as possible. But for training nades and smokes, you should just use the money command.

There are plenty of other ways to perfect your performance in-game, such as optimizing your CS2 rates. But practice makes perfect, and there’s no better way to help yourself practice than by activating the CS2 money command.

FAQs

Can I use the CS2 infinite money command in online matches?

Nope. Counter-Strike is about balance and fairness, with the economy of the game a key element of that. Allowing the CS2 infinite money command for use online would unsettle that balance, and cause huge issues for everyone. It would be an interesting game mode by itself, to allow players infinite money all of the time, but for the core Bomb Defusal mode, you have to earn your money. Some console commands can be used in online matches, such as the CS2 viewmodel commands, but they don’t provide an unfair advantage, so it’s understandable that they’re allowed.

Are there any more CS2 money commands?

No – the commands we’ve highlighted here should work in any private lobby regardless of game mode. Whether it’s Hostage Rescue, Bomb Defusal, or Wingman, these commands should be everything you need to use the CS2 money command. If you’re having issues, it could be that you don’t have your CS2 console enabled. This can be changed in the CS2 settings menu.

Why is the CS2 infinite money command so helpful?

Practicing in CS2 can be a pain with the restrictions of the game’s economy. By removing that, you get a free pass to unlimited items such as smokes and Molotovs. This means that you can easily practice your utility without interruption. There are plenty of custom maps that can with that too, but the infinite money command is great if you don’t want to download them.

Will CS2 have an infinite money command?

Almost certainly. There’s nothing to suggest that CS2 will remove any of the existing console commands. When the game is released, players will be able to find out for sure exactly what works and what doesn’t. Hopefully, there are more tools in the final release that can help players with training things such as utility. It could even be an option to have infinite money, rather than needing to use a console command.
