Dev1ce Reportedly Joining 100 Thieves in Planned Astralis CS Reunion

According to reports, Danish Counter-Strike icon Nicolai “device” Reedtz is set to join 100 Thieves, reuniting with a former Astralis teammate in the process.

He will become the second member of the golden Astralis five to join the new 100 Thieves team, with former IGL Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander set to take his first steps as a coach with the North American organization.

dev1ce to leave Astralis after disappointing Major

Should the move happen, as reported by HLTV, it will mark the end of dev1ce’s second spell with Astralis. The AWPer originally left the team for NIP back in 2021, but rejoined 18 months later following an extended break for personal reasons.

Dev1ce is one of the most legendary figures in Counter-Strike, but his glory days came between 2017 and 2019 with Astralis. He was the star of the team that won four Majors, as well as the inaugural Intel Grand Slam, but his career has stalled in recent years.

The return to Astralis wasn’t as successful as hoped, with the Danish organization never truly managing to settle on a roster. dev1ce even took over the IGL reins for a short time, succeeding Benjamin “blameFBremer after he was benched. Astralis failed to win a single LAN event following dev1ce’s return, with their best placements being 3rd-4th at several ESL and BLAST events.

If this is to be the end of dev1ce’s time with the organization that made him into a legend, it will have ended pretty pitifully. dev1ce was a huge disappointment during his final event with the team, the StarLadder Budapest Major, recording a 0.93 rating as Astralis crashed out from Stage 2 with a 2-3 record.

dev1ce will become the third piece of a veteran backbone for 100 Thieves, following on from gla1ve reportedly taking on a head coaching role and Havard “rain” Nygaard. Although it isn’t clear who will complete the roster, the core of GamerLegion, including Fredrik “REZ” Sterner, Oldrich “PR” Novy, and Sebastian “Tauson” Lindelof, have been heavily linked.
