Counter Strike is known for its competitive head to head precision shooting but sometimes you just want to blow off some steam against bots, with some flare and stakes, which is why some people have been asking for a Zombie Counter Strike mode.
So, does Counter-Strike have zombies? Well… Sorta. If you go through the extensive Counter Strike games list, there is actually a game that’s dedicated to having ghoulish creature chase you down. 2014’s addition to the roster for the Asian market “CS Nexon: Studio (2014)” added new modes. One of which, was the titular Zombie Counter Strike. Complete with its own lore, the gameplay goes through some of the same methodologies that fan made Zombie modes for CS 1.6 has had. Running through some corridors and basic platforming, mowing down small hordes of Zombies in set areas.
There’s some variation on the zombie types to spruce things up, not too dissimilar to Left 4 Dead. With each of the zombie maps, having unique boss fights to finish out each one. The game does have the inherent systems unique to Nexon: Studio, such as the pay to win weapons. However, as far as core title zombie Counter Strike experiences you can get-this is it.

If you’re not looking to boot up the Asia exclusive Nexon: Studio, you can still play zombie mode in Counter-Strike. The caveat here is that its through fan maps, which has been the norm for most Valve titles anyway. Workshop maps have been the norm for Counter Strike: Global Offensive since the feature was added. And CS 1.6 has had all kinds of private fan servers that can even make use of Counter Strike 1.6 cheats.

When searching community content you can search the words “Zombie Escape” to get community made Zombie maps. Like we mentioned in the Nexon version, these maps make use of long platforming corridors into controlled fight sections. There’s over 300 to choose from in CS Source alone!
