ZywOo masterclass carries Vitality to ESL Pro League Season 19 Grand Final
After three weeks of intense Counter-Strike action, just one match remains to decide the champion of ESL Pro League Season 19. The Semi-Finals saw two barn-burner match-ups, with Vitality vs. Astralis and Complexity vs. MOUZ. Before tomorrow’s Grand Final, we’re going to run you through the highlights of today’s matches, to see how we got our two finalists.

On another day, Astralis would have taken this series in two maps. Here, they threatened to do just that, after taking the first map of Mirage in a pretty comfortable fashion. Cometh the hour, cometh the man, as ZywOo awoke to drag Vitality kicking and screaming into the Grand Final of ESL Pro League Season 19. It was an absolute masterclass from the Frenchman, who showed exactly why many consider him to still be the number one Counter-Strike player in the world.
While it was absolutely the ZywOo show, we’ve also got to give props to apEX. This was a proper captain’s performance, rolling back the years to deliver huge frags in huge moments to lead from the front. Meanwhile, mezii continued to prove his worth, with several huge rounds without which Vitality couldn’t have come out on top here. It was a quieter day than we’ve come to expect from Spinx and flameZ, but Vitality won’t mind if they’re saving their big performance for the Grand Final.

Call it the day of the reverse sweep – MOUZ and Complexity certainly understood the assignment. After Complexity picked up the opener on Vertigo, MOUZ quickly turned things around with two convincing wins on Nuke and Ancient. MOUZ keeps the dream alive of back-to-back ESL Pro League victories, after emerging as champions of Season 18. This time around, it’s Brollan in place of frozen, but squint, and you can barely tell the difference.
Here, we once again saw why torzsi in Playoffs is a totally different animal. Both he and xertioN put on an awesome showing across the series, while IGL siuhy also deserves a shoutout for a fantastic top-fragging performance on Ancient. It’ll be a mammoth task for MOUZ to beat Vitality tomorrow, but in this kind of form, they’re always in with a shot.
