In Collaboration with Thunderpick

We’re onto day two of the Esports World Cup 2024 CS2 event, and things are just getting heated up. Day two will mostly comprise of the Last Chance bracket, which features a brutal best-of-one format that punishes any mistake with elimination. Love it or hate it, you can’t deny that it brings the drama.

If you don’t know what happened yesterday, check out our EWC 2024 CS2 day one review. Let’s dive into what’s up next!

JiJieHao vs. Sashi

JiJieHao vs. Sashi should, in our eyes, be no contest. Sashi have one of the most talented young squads around, almost taking the series against MOUZ. Meanwhile, JiJieHao has Kjaerbye, who surely can’t believe his look that he has ended up at the Esports World Cup 2024. Yes, it’s the best-of-one format, but we’ll be flabbergasted if JiJiHao can take down Sashi here.

FlyQuest vs. FURIA

Despite on paper being an even matchup, we’re giving FlyQuest the edge over FURIA here. The Aussies pushed FaZe to their limits on day one, and we’re unfortunate not to at least take a map from them. Meanwhile, FURIA struggled against NAVI, with skullz unable to provide the cutting edge the Brazilians need right now. Realistically in a best-of-one match, this could still be a total coin-flip.

The MongolZ vs. MIBR

Although MIBR got battered by Spirit in their opening match, don’t write them off against The MongolZ. The latter have had a tough run since returning from the player break, and struggled against the new-look G2 team. Of the two, The MongolZ are favorites on paper, 100 percent. However, we’ve got a sneaky feeling this one will be quite a close affair.

M80 vs. Complexity

Despite Lake struggling on his Tier 1 debut for M80, they managed to push Vitality on day one of the Esports World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, Complexity got walked over by Virtus.pro. Still, this battle of the NA teams should prove a tough contest for both sides. After all, M80 are looking to usurp Complexity in the hierarchy of North American Counter-Strike, and where better to kickstart that process than at the EWC 2024?

G2 vs. Spirit

While most matches on day two of the EWC 2024 CS2 tournament are in the Last Chance bracket, we’re also getting our first taste of Playoffs action in G2 vs. Spirit. Despite a solid debut for G2, it’s always hard to look past Spirit in any match. All of Spirit’s roster showed up on day one, and if they’re firing as they were yesterday, we can already put G2 on the next plane home from Riyadh.
