GODSENT Files for Bankruptcy as Former CEO Says New Owners Have “No Relevant Experience”
After struggling in recent years, the former CEO of GODSENT, Ludwig Sandgren, has announced that the organization has officially ceased operations and filed for bankruptcy.
He also said that the brand has been acquired by another party, and that the new owners have “no relevant experience or resources in esports.”
GODSENT’s Counter-Strike legacy

GODSENT got their start in 2016 when legendary Fnatic Counter-Strike IGL Markus “pronax” Wallsten left the British organization and set out to create his own.
The birth of GODSENT also ushered in the infamous Swedish shuffle, which saw Robin “flusha” Ronnquist, Jesper “JW” Wecksell, and Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson all leave Fnatic for the newly founded Swedish organization. However, the move was ultimately ill-fated, and KRIMZ and JW both went back to Fnatic after just two months.
GODSENT then failed to ever truly become competitive in Counter-Strike, but would become a home for Swedish talent to break into the scene. Both Hampus “hampus” Poser and Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin got their starts whilst playing for the team, and in more recent times after having both international and Brazilian rosters, so has prodigious Swedish talent Liam “MaiL09” Tugel.

GODSENT go bankrupt
When speaking about the closure and sale of the brand, former CEO Ludwig Sandgren stated that he is “not happy with how the bidding process has been handled.”
“Professional and credible parties of international stature who I coordinated with wanted to purchase the brand – people I would have trusted to carry the legacy,” he said. “They reached out to the estate in good time but were never contacted or allowed to participate in the bidding, which I believe they would’ve won. Now, GODSENT has been sold to someone I fear has no relevant experience or resources in esports.”
Sandgren continued by saying that he then reached out to the new owner and offered to buy the brand back for more than what was paid, but that the new owner “refuses to communicate.”
He ended his post by wishing them the best of luck.
