How to Kick Yourself in CS2 – Leave The Game Without Getting Sanctioned
Sometimes Counter-Strike 2 matches can get out of hand and you need to leave for one reason or another. However, abandoning the match by simply disconnecting from the server could lower your hidden trust factor and result in a temporary ban. There’s a risk-free option: learn how to kick yourself in CS2.
Why is kicking yourself the best option?
Leaving a competitive match comes with its consequences:
- Lower Trust Factor
- Temporary Matchmaking Cooldown
The only way to avoid those is to get yourself kicked. However, don’t use this method in every game that’s not going your way. Always try to fight back against your opposition and complete the comeback together with your teammates. That being said, some situations leave players with no choice but to get the hell out of the server, such as CS2 cheats, smurfs, game keeps crashing, or a real-life emergency.
How to kick yourself in CS2
When attempting to kick another player on your team, you can use the vote-kicking feature available within the game. However, this method does not allow players to initiate a vote regarding themselves. That’s why we need to open up the CS2 console.
After opening the console with the ~ key, follow these steps:
- Firstly, use the status command
- Then, find your ID number and remember it (not Steam ID)
- Type in callvote kick followed by your ID number. It would look something like this: callvote kick 13 (see picture below).
And now you know how to kick yourself in CS2. With the vote open, it comes down to your teammates, whether you get to leave the game without unnecessary consequences. If they seem to be friendly, you can try explaining the situation and persuading them to let you go off the hook.
However, that might not work out and they could purposefully keep you in the game to make sure you suffer together.
While this method is not perfect, it’s the best there is at this moment in time, so keep it in the back of your mind before your next competitive affair.
