G2 and FaZe among teams accepting invites

The storyline about the most recent PGL event, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, was that the majority of the biggest CS2 teams chose to skip. This time, it’s largely the same story, but we do at least get G2 and FaZe here to add some top quality into the mix.

G2 were among the most notable absentees from PGL Cluj-Napoca, and VRS had started to become a concern for the team. An event like this, with such a hefty prize pool at $1.25 million, should do wonders, as most would expect them to go very far in Bucharest.

  • G2
  • The MongolZ
  • FaZe Clan
  • Eternal Fire
  • Team Falcons
  • Team Liquid
  • FURIA
  • Virtus.pro
  • GamerLegion
  • 3DMAX
  • Astralis
  • paiN Gaming

Also attending this time around is Team Liquid, who were criticized for their decision to miss out on PGL Cluj-Napoca. Looking at their precarious spot in the Valve Regional Standings, it’s understandable why they faced such criticism, but Team Liquid won’t be making the same mistake twice.

More Top Teams Decline PGL Bucharest 2025 Invites

Like PGL Cluj-Napoca, we have seen a few top teams decline their invites to PGL Bucharest 2025. Spirit, Vitality, and NAVI have all once again decided to prioritize events elsewhere, with iM once again missing out on the chance to play in front of a home crowd.

The big surprise here for me is MOUZ, though. They won PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, in what was surely a massive confidence boost for the team and a healthy addition to their VRS points. They’ll be attending BLAST Open Lisbon and IEM Melbourne in between PGL Bucharest, so this could be seen as a rest period for the reigning Cluj-Napoca champions.
