Falcons and G2 set up NiKo vs. m0NESY Final clash at PGL Bucharest 2025

Can you believe that Counter-Strike’s second trip to Romania is almost at an end? PGL Bucharest 2025 has reached the Grand Final, with both G2 and Falcons making it all the way for their first clash since IEM Katowice 2025.

The storyline here is of course the fact that NiKo and m0NESY will be going head-to-head, perhaps for the last time before the Russian AWPer leaves to reunite with his former teammate. Let’s dive into the matches!

Falcons outlast FaZe Clan as AWP makes the difference

The first PGL Bucharest 2025 Semi-Final match was between Falcons and FaZe Clan, with NiKo winning out this particular contest with his former IGL karrigan. Falcons were victorious in a tight 2:1 series, but they’ll be disappointed they didn’t get things over and done with in two maps after a huge collapse allowed FaZe Clan into the game on map two. On the overall balance of things, it’s difficult to argue that Falcons didn’t deserve to win here – they were better in just about every aspect, further adding to FaZe’s miserable 2025.

You only have to look at the two AWPers to realize where it all went wrong for FaZe Clan. On one side, you have degster, top of the scoreboard with 61 kills. For FaZe, it was the opposite story, with broky only mustering a pitiful 31 kills across all three maps. It has been all downhill for broky so far this year, but this felt like something of a new low individually.

G2 take down Complexity in two maps

Two maps was all it took for G2 to eliminate Complexity, who gave a decent account of themselves despite not making it more competitive. In truth, it was always clear that this PGL Bucharest run was a big overachievement for Complexity, so it came as little surprise that it came to an end when facing a team with the individual quality of G2.

And ultimately, it was that individual brilliance that made the difference for G2. By the time the second map of Dust2 was hurtling towards its inevitable conclusion, m0NESY looked like he was smurfing in his FACEIT matches, going 43:21 in the series. By contrast, Complexity’s AWPer hallzerk simply ran out of gas, failing to capture the great form he had shown throughout the rest of the tournament.
