With last night’s conclusion of the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2023 Final, competitive CS:GO has drawn to a close. As we say farewell to CS:GO for the last time, we’re taking a look at how players are paying tribute to arguably the best tactical FPS ever made.

The Old Dogs

One of the most amazing things about CS:GO is that it’s a multi-generational title. On one side, you’ve got talents barely older than CS:GO itself. And on the other, you’ve got players who have been playing Counter-Strike longer than other pros have been alive!

The lasting impact of CS:GO is clear for all to see. Let’s hope these older pros continue into the new release of Counter-Strike 2. It may not be CS:GO 2 as some were hoping, but the potential is there to write a special story of its own.

The Middle Years

We can’t say farewell to CS:GO without looking at the players from the middle years. Pros who competed from 2016 to 2020 kept the game alive and interesting, helping to grow it into one of the biggest esports in the world. The Young Guns Say Goodbye

Finally, we reach the next generation of Counter-Strike players who’ll carry the torch into CS2. We’re excited to see what these guys do next, but first, let’s see how they said their own farewell to CS:GO.
