The Closed Qualifiers for the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 are back underway, and this time, it’s NA’s turn. Last time out, we saw Imperial blast their way through the SA Qualifiers, and now, fan favorites such as M80 and Mythic are looking to find themselves on LAN later this year.
We’ve already seen the Round of 16 play out in the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 NA Qualifier, so we’re going to talk you through what went down on the server.

Mythic, the popular stream team led by fl0m, caused the shock result of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 NA Qualifier by besting Elevate. Things didn’t look so promising after a pretty dominant Mirage from Elevate. However, fl0m and his boys locked in for Vertigo and Ancient, completing a reverse sweep that sees them into the Quarter-Finals for a match against M80.
It can’t really be understated how much of a team effort this was from Mythic. The team were all between 50 and 46 kills across the series, meaning no one player carried them over the line. Instead, it was just good CS where everyone contributed to the win. Given the huge popularity of Mythic online, it would be fun to see them make it to LAN, although their clash against M80 is going to prove a massive challenge.

Broadly, the first round of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 NA Qualifier saw the big names progress to the Quarter-Finals. In fact, the teams we’re talking about did it without dropping a single map between them. M80 took down E-Xolos LAZER, Wildcard beat Limitless, Legacy walked over Carpe Diem, Party Astronauts made short work of G3, and Nouns never even flinched against FLUFFY AIMERS.
While underdog stories are always good fun, we think this is a good thing, in this case. With only one slot up for grabs at the NA Qualifier of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, we want to see NA’s best represented on LAN later this year. By the looks of it, that will be the case.
