32 has been whittled down to just two, and the first European Qualifier for the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 is almost at an end. Today’s Semi-Finals came down to two matches: BLEED vs. BIG, and AMKAL vs. Gaimin Gladiators – let’s see how it went down.

BLEED take down BIG in two

In the first match of the day, BLEED faced BIG, in a clash that most may have had the German roster winning on paper. Two close maps later, and it’s BLEED who have secured their place in the Grand Final of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 European Qualifiers. 13:11 and 13:10 were the scores, with BIG not quite doing enough to gain a foothold in the series.

It’s easy to forget that BLEED played the first map with stand-in RuStY, making this result worse than it already appears for BIG. CYPHER returned for the second map, but it was faveN‘s heroics that allowed BLEED to take this win without too much trouble.

Gaimin Gladiators reverse-sweep AMKAL

[column size=”1/2″ last=”false”]

The second match-up of the day saw Gaimin Gladiators take on AMKAL. This tie was a much closer affair, with Gaimin Gladiators needing all three maps to reverse-sweep AMKAL, who won the first map on Vertigo. Both teams have been in great form throughout the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 EU Qualifiers, and you frankly could have decided this match with a coin flip.

As has often been the case for Gaimin Gladiators, it was moments of true individual brilliance that saw them fight for the win here. Queenix, Nodios, salazar, and kraghen all put in strong performances across the series, and it was a 1v3 clutch at the death of map 3 that got Gaimin Gladiators over the finish line. With BLEED up next for Gaimin Gladiators, we fancy the Danes to be strong favorites.
