The latest event in the busy CS2 calendar for 2025 has concluded – this time, it was BLAST Open Spring 2025. Anyone who has followed the scene this year won’t be at all surprised by the winners, with Vitality taking home the trophy when all was said and done. Let’s take a look at how they won it, shall we?

It wasn’t pretty, but Vitality are your BLAST Open Spring 2025 champions! They required all five maps to take down a spirited MOUZ team, winning their third consecutive trophy in dramatic fashion. We’re not quite in a Vitality era just yet, but we’re certainly on the verge, with the team now on the fourth-longest LAN victory run (16) in Counter-Strike history.

Kicking off the day with a 13:0 didn’t quite set the tone for proceedings. Things got messy throughout the rest of the series, and it’s a testament to this team’s quality that they still came out the other side holding the trophy. Even when it looked like MOUZ had a grip on the match, Vitality showed why they’ve been the team to beat in 2025 so far.

Overall, it was a quieter night for the individuals of Vitality, with ZywOo taking over the series in a truly dominant display. This is why many consider him to be the GOAT of Counter-Strike – this god-given ability to win any match on a whim single-handedly. With several MVP performances under his name this year, ZywOo leads the front of the pack in the race for the number one spot.

After losing the first map 13:0 (becoming the first CS:GO or CS2 team to do so in a Grand Final), you’d be forgiven for thinking MOUZ were down and out before the contest had really begun. It’s a testament to how the mentality of these players has progressed over the last few months that they were able to come back and take two maps in this series, and they probably should have won the whole thing.

For some time, just about everyone questioned this MOUZ roster’s resilience in stage matches. They may have lost here, but that argument has been put to bed. MOUZ are real contenders for the big trophies, and on this evidence, they’re quickly catching Vitality, who remain the best CS2 team in the world. It’s only a matter of time before they get that elusive win against the team.
