How to Change Party Members In Baldur’s Gate 3
Switching party members can seem a little complex, but not difficult at all. You’ve got a full list of Baldur’s Gate 3 companions to choose from. When a player has a complete party with 4 members (including their Tav), any new party members they recruit will immediately move to the camp and stay there until summoned.
To swap them out all you need to do is:
Travel to your campsite with fast travel or by taking a long rest
Once there, locate and talk to the ally you want to add to your party.
Select option to ask them to join the party among the dialog options.

If your party is already complete, here are the steps to remove characters currently in your party.
Travel to camp either via fast travel or by selecting the option to ‘take a long rest’ from the menu.
Once there, locate and talk to the ally you want to remove from your party.
There will be an option to ask them to leave the party among the dialog options.
They’ll always ask if you’re sure, so say yes to remove them from the party and leave them at camp.
Any available party members will always be lingering about camp if they aren’t in the active party. You can approach anyone in the camp and ask them to join the party, filling the empty spot. This is why it’s worth your while to recruit as many allies as possible. You can switch them out as many times as you want with no cost.
