BetBoom gets instant loss for “stream sniping” during Major match

In a surprising turn of events, BetBoom, the star-studded Eastern European squad, was handed a loss to Tundra Esports in the Dota 2 Bali Major 2023 playoffs. The loss came after a controversial incident involving a player known as Pure, who was caught watching Nix’s stream during a game pause against Tundra.

This incident sparked a heated debate within the Dota 2 community, with many questioning the fairness and integrity of the game.

The incident was first brought to light on Reddit, where a user posted about Pure’s actions during the pause. The post quickly gained traction, with many users expressing their disapproval and calling for action to be taken against Pure. The controversy escalated when it was announced on the Chinese stream that BetBoom had been considered lost to Tundra following the incident.

In addition to the controversy, Tundra Esports, who were the reigning The International (TI) champions, were playing with coach Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling as a stand-in after Martin “Saksa” Sazdov was forced to miss the rest of the Major due to a sudden illness. Despite these circumstances, Tundra managed to secure a victory against BetBoom.

Following the loss, BetBoom now finds themselves in the lower brackets of the tournament. The team’s future in the tournament is uncertain, and they will need to regroup and refocus their efforts if they hope to make a comeback.
