BOOM Esports Releases Dota 2 Roster After Failing To Qualify For TI13

It’s a heartbreaking yet anticipated departure, as the roster of BOOM Esports’ Dota 2 roster leaves the organization after an underwhelming 2024 season. BOOM Esports’ collapse from their prime is a heavy debate among fans, who once cheered for their Southeast Asian line-up’s glory days.

It’s an odd decision for the Indonesia-based organization to pick up a SA squad despite finding decent success with their previous SEA line-up. In fact, many fans would agree that their 2022 roster was what placed BOOM in the spotlight among international opponents during its prime.

Unfortunately, BOOM never kept their best roster even after a phenomenal 2022 season. Since then, it’s been all downhill as they transitioned to the SA region, a move that the North American powerhouse, Evil Geniuses, also attempted and failed.

What’s next for BOOM Esports?

Without any further news from BOOM besides about letting go of their SA players, we can only assume BOOM is already eyeing on the next Dota 2 season. For every other team which didn’t make the cut for the International 2024 (TI13), it’s a head-start to recruit prospective players.

Hopefully, BOOM will return to its roots and compete in SEA next season. The SEA scene has no shortage of notable talents and competition, so BOOM’s return will surely be welcomed.

As for Team Waska, they are currently an unsponsored team competing in SA region. Given their recent performances, they have a bit to brush up on before expecting any esports organization to consider them. But a good performance in upcoming qualifiers could turn that around.
