BTS Pro Series: Americas – Playoffs Day 2 Predictions
BTS Pro Series: Americas has entered its Playoffs Stage and on day 1, only one of the favorites won their match. The other one was bested by a determined and very clever Evil Geniuses squad that has learned its lessons from the Group Stage and is now much stronger than it was just a week ago. Right now, we’re all waiting to see what the next 3 matches hold in store.

Results Summary Until Now
The first two weeks of the BTS Pro Series: Americas were very eventful, with lots of great matches and surprisingly few upsets. Here’s a brief summary of them.
Group Stage
- 1st place: Quincy Crew: 7 W – 0 L
- 2nd place: CR4ZY: 6 W – 1 L
- 3rd place: Evil Geniuses: 4 W – 3 L
- 4th place: business associates: 4 W – 3 L
- 5th place: Thunder Predator: 3 W – 4 L
- 6th place: Cloud9: 3 W – 4 L
- 7th place: beastcoast: 1 W – 6 L
- 8th place: FURIA Esports: 0 W – 7 L
As you can see, the South American teams got absolutely destroyed by the rest of the teams, and somewhat contrary to expectations, Evil Geniuses did not manage to repeat the great performances from ESL One Los Angeles. It looks like their regional rivals have finally managed to figure out their playstyle and put some real pressure on them, relying on one simple fact: with 2 key players missing, EG cannot play its usual game and will have problems reacting to anything that’s completely out of the box. Where the standard roster would have had no difficulties whatsoever, the improvised one completely crumbled. And it’s no surprise.
The two big winners of the Group Stage were Quincy Crew and CR4ZY. Both teams performed extremely well and secured themselves spots in the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs.
Playoffs Stage Day 1
The Playoffs Stage began with high hopes for the two teams that had dominated the Group Stage of BTS Pro Series: Americas. Quincy Crew was expected to beat business associates while CR4ZY looked fully capable of beating Evil Geniuses. After all, they had already defeated them 2 – 0 less than a week before. But while Quincy Crew succeeded in delivering the expected result, CR4ZY failed to do the same. I will never understand why they played two Invoker games (both of them lost, by the way) when it was obvious that EG had done their homework.
In the other match, Quincy Crew won an 80 minute game against business associates and then went on to win the match 2 – 1. It was quite spectacular and it’s definitely worth watching again.
BTS Pro Series: Americas – Predictions
In the next three matches of BTS Pro Series: Americas, Quincy Crew is expected to beat Evil Geniuses (probably 2 – 1), business associates will likely smash Thunder Predator, while CR4ZY should easily move past Cloud9. The only thing that could change the situation is Fly’s ability to prepare something effective against Quincy Crew. The other two matches are a done deal in my opinion.
