The Bucharest Minor Playoffs Preview
The Bucharest Minor is entering its Playoffs Stage today and the 8 competitors are beginning their fight for a chance to play in the second Major of the season, namely The Chongqing Major. But to do that, they need to win, and only one team can do that.

Group Stage summary
The Group Stage of The Bucharest Minor was rather eventful, with some of the best teams failing to advance to the Upper Bracket. They will still play in the Lower Bracket, but it’s a completely different show in that division.
In Group A, Gambit Esports and Keen Gaming were the teams that finished 1st and 2nd respectively. And that’s where the surprise took place, because Ninjas in Pyjamas was expected to dominate the group. After all, this is the 4th ranked team in the world in the DPC table, so seeing them getting defeated twice by Keen Gaming, a relatively small team from China, was very bad news for them and their fans.

Everyone can feel that something’s not working at the moment with ppd’s team, although you would expect them to perform very well at events like The Bucharest Major, simply because they’re theoretically one of the strongest teams in the world.
The final results in Group A saw NiP finish 3rd and TEAM TEAM 4th. In Group B on the other hand, we’ve seen EHOME crush everyone and OG ending in 2nd place. BOOM ID and Playmakers Esports finished 3rd and 4th consecutively.
Playoffs
The big favorites for the Playoffs are EHOME, OG and Gambit. Any of them could win The Bucharest Minor, although I do favor EHOME as the strongest team at this event the one most likely to succeed, now that NiP seems to be in serious trouble in terms of strategy for the new patch.
The first round of Playoffs matches will be the following:
- EHOME vs. Keen Gaming → EHOME to win
- Gambit Esports vs. OG → Gambit Esports to win
- BOOM ID vs. TEAM TEAM → TEAM TEAM to win
- Ninjas in Pyjamas vs. Playmakers Esports → NiP to win
