BuLba Reveals the Secret Behind Shopify Rebellion’s Strong Unity

In a recent interview, Kanishka “BuLba” Sosale, the coach of Shopify Rebellion, shed light on the team’s unwavering unity and their decision to stick together despite the ups and downs.

SR’s super studded roster includes BuLba, Fly, Abed “Abed” Yusop and Artour “Arteezy” Babaev has been playing together for four years, primarily with Evil Geniuses. Their journey together continued when Shopify Rebellion entered the competitive Dota 2 scene by recruiting the former Evil Geniuses lineup, with Tal “Fly” Aizik leading and BuLba taking on the coaching role.

BuLba attributes the team’s steadfastness to their strong friendship and mutual trust. He believes that their shared history of success has instilled a deep sense of belief in each other, even during challenging times.

“We were always on top with different players, be it SumaiL, Abed, iceiceice, RAMZES, or s4. We didn’t win any Majors, but we managed to go very far. Like Team Liquid this year, it’s constantly in the top 2, top 3. That showed us that even our minimum level is high. We always had good results, and I think because of that, we trusted and believed in each other,” BuLba explained.

Despite the changing offlaner from season to season, the core team has remained the same. The current offlaner for the DPC 2023 is Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek. BuLba emphasized that the team’s camaraderie has been a driving force, helping them navigate through tough times. He also acknowledged that the past year was a test for the team, with some of their worst results ever. However, they started this year on a high note, although recent patches have not been in their favor.

Shopify Rebellion had a strong start to the year, finishing fourth in the Lima Major 2023 and third at the DreamLeague Season 19. However, their performance has dipped in patch 7.33, with the team finishing 9th-12th in the Berlin Major, 11th-12th at DreamLeague Season 20, and 9th-12th at the Bali Major. Despite these setbacks, BuLba remains optimistic about the team’s potential and their ability to bounce back.

The team is now gearing up for the Riyadh Masters 2023, which boasts a massive $15,000,000 USD prize pool. Shopify Rebellion has been directly invited to the group stage, giving them a head start in their quest for the largest share of the prize money.
