Dota 2 Battle Pass 2025 Rumors
At this point, even the most dismissible source of rumor that the Dota 2 Battle Pass will give a glimpse of hope to the Dota 2 community. It has been two years since Valve announced that they discontinued the yearly tradition of developing Battle Pass for the International Championship.
Since then, fans have longed for its return, but only to be disappointed by Valve’s alternative to Battle Passes, the Compendium. It lacks any exclusive Dota 2 skins and was simply made to generate some revenue by letting fans support their favorite teams participating in the International.
Now, it’s an important to note that Sikle did not claim that the test server is definite proof of the new Battle Pass 2025 being in development, so do take the rumor with a pinch of salt. However, that does not mean Valve doesn’t have anything in store for the Dota 2 players.
Is there Battle Pass 2025?
While we can’t be certain of Battle Pass coming this year, we can look forward to seasonal events that Valve and the players have enjoyed. Notably, last year’s Crownfall event was a success, despite not generating as much revenue for Valve than the Battle Pass. It was a hit among Dota 2 players, who enjoyed the mini games, storyline and of course, exclusive rewards.
Valve definitely understood the feedback and is in the works of developing another Crownfall-like event. There was another rumor teased by another notable Dota 2 figure, Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov, who said that Valve might be releasing a new global Dota 2 event in the upcoming months. The streamer and former caster, revealed this information during his Twitch stream yesterday.
Additionally, NS shared that Valve’s objective is allegedly to boost the Dota 2 player base. This is in line with Valve’s statement when they announced that they are removing Battle Passes and prioritizing on developing the game to benefit all players.
