3 Midas Bug Abusing Heroes You Definitely Shouldn’t Pick

It’s been over a week since the Dota 2 Midas Bug began to plague the game, and shockingly, Valve still hasn’t fixed the bug nor disabled the item it until they find a fix.

While we recommend not playing Dota 2 at the moment (Why not try and get a Deadlock code?) due to the mass number of Midas Bug abusers, here are three heroes that can capitalize on the Midas Bug’s infinite gold glitch:

*As a disclaimer, we do not condone to the use of Dota 2 Midas Bug as Valve may punish bug abusers as it’s considered hacking. You have been warned!*

Top 3 Dota 2 heroes to use Midas Bug

Every hero can replicate the steps for Dota 2 Midas Bug. Just to recap, it’s a series of buying Hand of Midas, putting in backpack, dropping it and selling it in a particular order. For the latest method to use Dota 2 Midas Bug, be sure to check the Dota 2 Reddit forum since new methods keep getting discovered by players.

1. Lone Druid

Yet, the Midas Bug is exceptionally good on Lone Druid because he can have up to 12 slots of late game items. When there’s no limit to the gold glitch, having extra item slots makes you stronger than typical carry heroes.

Besides the usual Lone Druid and his Summon Bear’s item builds, purchasing consumable items, such as Aghanim’s Scepter and Moon Shards, make LD very powerful.

2. Wraith King

As more players in a game are starting to abuse the Dota 2 Midas Bug, it becomes an endurance game for every 6-slotted hero to brawl it out.

The last thing you want to do as a Midas Bug abuser is to lose with a full-slot hero. Hence, Wraith King’s durability and ability to reincarnate, makes him a troublesome opponent to overextend fights.

3. Techies

Similar to Lone Druid, Techies’ Facet, Spoon’s Stash, converts his 3 backpack slots into inventory slots. With a 9-slotted Techies, a Midas Bug abuser can potentially scale better since the items in all 9 inventory slots grant the items’ stats and abilities.

In the case of Techies, he can have multiple utility items, such as Gleipnir, Sheepstick, and other disabling items. Top it off with a Dagon Level 5 while you have enough slots for it.

Heroes not to pick for Midas Bug

As honorable mentions, definitely don’t pick Ogre Magi and Alchemist if you intend on abusing the Midas Bug. Here’s why that would be a “super bad idea” because of their incredible synergy with item:

Ogre Magi’s Multicast interaction with Hand of Midas would have been a powerful combo if Valve hasn’t disabled Multicast from working on Hand of Midas.

Similarly, Alchemist’s Innate Ability, Greevil’s Greed does not trigger when using Hand of Midas. On paper, Greevil’s Greed will generate bonus gold if Alchemist kills another creep within 40 seconds. Since Hand of Midas allows him to kill creeps fast, the gold bonus is exponential.

Jokes aside, it’s baffling how Valve has yet to develop a proper resolution for the Midas Bug. Additionally, we are merely a week away from the International 2024 too, so it would be hysterical if the pro players have to play with the Midas Bug around.
