Na’Vi Get Their First Qualifying Points in the Dota Pro Circuit

The DreamLeague Season 8 Major is over and Na’Vi got a surprising 4th place finish, earning 75 qualifying points per player and climbing straight up to the number 8 spot in the Dota Pro Circuit rankings. In other words, if the direct invitees for The International 2018 would be announced tomorrow, Na’Vi would be among those teams!

To put things in perspective, the CIS squad didn’t even qualify for The International 2017, let alone get a direct invite. This event made even their most loyal fans question the organization’s capacity to stop the downward trend.

After winning the hearts of many all over the world by being crowned champions of the very first TI (in 2011), Na’Vi went on a 6-year decline: from 2nd place at The International 2012, to last place (13th-16th) at The International 2015 and 2016, and then to not even being able to qualify in 2017.

Now, people are no longer joking when they say that “Na’Vi is back”. With their newly formed roster led by Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev and coached by Alexander “XBOCT” Dashkevich, Na’Vi are qualifying for Dota Pro Circuit tournaments and are giving even the best teams in the world a run for their money. And with more than 80% of the 2017-2018 Dota 2 season still in front of us, who knows how high this legendary team can climb?
