Parker and Scofield Get Their Revenge on Heroic to Qualify for Dota 2 DreamLeague S28
Peruvian stack Peru Rejects have officially pulled off a major upset, taking down favorites Heroic in the South American qualifiers to qualify for DreamLeague Season 28. What makes this result more interesting is the history behind the two teams.
Peru Rejects’ DreamLeague Season 28 lineup:
- David “Parker” Nicho Flores
- Gonzalo “DarkMago” Herrera
- Frank “Frank” Ayala
- Elvis “Scofield” Peña
- Yelsthin “Elmisho” Hurtado
Peru Rejects Pull Off Huge Upset in South America
Eight South American teams competed in a closed qualifier for a spot at the million-dollar DreamLeague Season 28 tournament. From the moment the qualifiers began, Heroic were expected to cruise through the bracket and represent the region. After all, this lineup had placed Top 6 at The International 2025 and won FISSURE Universe: Episode 7 last year. Peru Rejects, however, had other plans.

As their name suggests, Peru Rejects is a Peruvian stack made up of players who were let go of their former teams. Despite entering the qualifier unrepresented and as heavy underdogs, the newly formed roster pulled off an incredible run to snatch the DreamLeague slot straight from Heroic’s grasp.
Parker Gets Last Laugh Against Heroic
Parker is no stranger in the South American scene – or to the Heroic organization in particular. The 23-year-old previously played for the team in 2024, helping them win PGL Wallachia Season 2, which was the first-ever international LAN win for a South American team.
However, his departure from the team was anything but smooth. Parker was removed from Heroic following internal issues, most notably involving offlaner Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn. This conflict led to Parker getting benched by the team.
With this context in mind, the match between Peru Rejects and Heroic was more than a mere qualification match – it was personal. Facing the same organization and player that led to his removal, Parker stepped up and eliminated his former team from the DreamLeague race.
Scofield Shows Why He Was Heroic’s Star
The story doesn’t end with Parker – there’s more. Scofield, widely regarded as one of the most legendary South American players in the world, also found himself on the opposite side of the server against his former teammates. The veteran left the team before the start of the year for undisclosed reasons.
It didn’t take long for Scofield to prove why he was considered Heroic’s most important player. Beating the organization he had just left only weeks earlier reinforces just how much Heroic lost when he walked away from the team.
Storylines aside, this Peru Rejects lineup has plenty of potential. They’ve proved they can take down South America’s best, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the roster get picked up by an organization in the near future.
