The PGL Wallachia 2024, particularly the group stage is already on its way. With most teams having completed at least three rounds, we already have the two top seeds which secured their Playoffs advancement. Those two heavy hitters are none other than Team Falcons and Xtreme Gaming.

Going into PGL Wallachia, Falcons fans were anxious about the team’s performance as their mid-player, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak, could not attend due to visa issues. As such, even after Team Falcons won their third championship this season. The fan expectations still lowered and were not hopeful of Team Falcons securing another championship title in their book.
Yet, against all odds, Falcons seem to still be at the top of their game, even with a stand-in player, Leon “Nine” Kirilin. Of course, we have to give credit where it’s due, because Nine is by no means just an ordinary stand-in. He is the International 2023 Champion, formerly from Tundra Esports, so he has definitely earned his title as amongst the best players in Dota 2 Esports.
Regardless, the Falcons players were still able to play effectively with the handicap.

While it’s great news that Team Falcons secured themselves a guaranteed spot in the upcoming PGL Wallachia Playoffs, it’s crucial to note that the three opponents they defeated are Gaimin Gladiators, HEROICS, and nouns.
These opponents are certainly not the best in class at PGL Wallachia 2024 at the moment, so Falcons may have trouble advancing further.
Much stronger rivals, such as the other guaranteed Playoffs contestant, Xtreme Gaming, will surely give Falcons a run for their money. Especially after they swept every match in the group stage. Additionally, BetBoom Team and Aurora have also been fearsome opponents at the PGL Wallachia. Notably, BetBoom is amongst the top dogs going into PGL Wallachia.
On a side note, nouns, Azure Ray and HEROIC have already been eliminated, while the other eleven contestants are still in the running to secure the remaining six top-seed finishes to advance to Playoffs.
These include the aforementioned BetBoom Team and Aurora, BOOM Esports, Shopify Rebellion, Gaimin Gladiators, and Team Spirit, who have the lead. Whereas G2 x iG, MOUZ, Team Liquid, Team Secret, and Virtus.pro need to step up their game to earn more victories.
There’s no guarantee for Team Falcons this time around, without Malr1ne on their line-up. And, considering how they barely managed to secure the victories in the group stage, surely one of the other contestants will topple the consecutive Champions.
The only possibility of Team Falcons’ victory at PGL Wallachia S1 is the arrival of Malr1ne ahead of the Playoffs. Malr1ne has historically returned to his team after a period of early absence, when he secures his visa after a later time.
So, hopefully, we get to see Team Falcons in full force before the main stage.
