Valve Announces Direct Invites and Dates of TI13

After months of anticipation, Valve has finally revealed further details about The International 2024, including the dates and six directly invited teams. Unveiled late on May 27 on Dota 2’s official website,

TI13 will officially take place between Sept. 4 and Sept. 15 2024.

The six direct invites were handed down to Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming, Team Falcons, Team Liquid, Gaimin Gladiators, and BetBoom Team. It’s easy to see why these teams were selected, as each were finalists of the past season’s tournaments, with Falcons and Gaimin most recently competing in the Grand Finals of DreamLeague S23.

As for the remaining ten slots, these will be awarded through regional qualifiers, with China, Southeast Asia, Western Europe, and South America receiving two slots, and North America and Eastern Europe receiving just one. Teams for these qualifiers have already been selected, with limited Open Qualifier slots.

The post also revealed details about the dates for all TI13 qualifiers, and The International itself. Here’s a breakdown of the dates:

Open Qualifiers for all six regions will run June 3 – June 8.
Regional Qualifiers will run as follows
- China and North America – June 9 – June 13
- Eastern Europe and South America – June 14 – June 18
- Southeast Asia and Western Europe – June 19 – June 23

Then TI itself will kick off in September. The initial group stage and five day playoffs will be a Studio Production, with the main event being held in the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. Here’s how the dates pan out:

Two-day Group Stage – Wednesday, Sept. 4 – Sept. 5
Five-day Playoffs – Tuesday, Sept. 6 – Sept. 10.
Main Event, The International – Friday, Sept. 13 – Sunday, Sept 15.

When can I buy tickets for TI13?

TI Tickets will be on sale from Monday, June 10, so it’s just a short wait away. Meanwhile, open qualifiers are kicking off as early as next week, so if you’re putting together a last minute stack, now’s your chance!
