Dota Pro Circuit EEU/WEU Week 3 Match Predictions and Analysis

The Dota Pro Circuit 2021-22 (DPC 2021-22) finally reveals a distinct power gap among its competitors. Notably in the Western Europe side of things, powerhouses that were anticipated for strong performance seemed flustered and unable to close out games. Alliance and Nigma are yet to win any match. We are heading into the third week of DPC WEU 2021-22, yet, they cannot catch a breath just yet as their upcoming matches are up against hefty competitors.

Over in EEU, Team Spirit still reign supreme, but it is PuckChamp who are building a name for themselves as they plowed through both Gambit and Natus Vincere. Let’s see how the Dota 2 betting markets are looking this week.

DPC EEU and WEU 2021/22 Week 3 Key Matches

The matches in DPC EEU 2021/22 and DPC WEU 2021/22 Week 3 are in UTC+8 timezone:

  • Team OG vs Nigma Galaxy – December 15, 1AM
  • Team Spirit vs Team Empire – December 17, 7PM
  • Team Secret vs Nigma Galaxy – December 19, 1AM
  • Virtus.pro vs PuckChamp – December 20, 1AM

Team Secret vs Nigma Galaxy

Nigma Galaxy is in hot water after flopping two of their previous matches. To make matters worse, the losses weren’t against top-notch teams like Liquid or Secret . Instead, they lost to Team Tickles, who were formerly Vikin.gg, and Tundra Esports. Out of the frying pan into the fire, as Nigma faces Team Secret and OG on the same week.

For the uninitiated, Team Secret is one opponent feared by every opponent. Secret’s captain, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov has always withheld a standard for absolute dominance in competitive Dota 2, it became his hallmark trait. Hence, Nigma even with their complete line-up, that includes Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi’s return this week isn’t sufficient. Team Secret will most likely overwhelm Nigma by a margin if we want to play favorites.

In fact, the odds wholeheartedly agree as such that Team Secret will win at x1.21. You can go for a clean 2:0 series prediction here for some heftier returns.

Team OG vs Nigma Galaxy

Another highlighted match of the week must be OG vs Nigma. Team OG, obviously didn’t feature any familiar line-up that Nigma once encountered. However, this revamped OG isn’t too shabby for a team of delinquents. We even go as far as to say that Nigma will have trouble going up against the new OG.

They nearly defeated Team Liquid, whose current line-up has been hailed to be the strongest in the DPC EEU 2021-22. Notably, the Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen and Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg duo are enough to strike fear into their opponents. Yet, OG gave them a run for their money in their initial bout, creating a good name for the new roster. The decisive game three between OG and Liquid eventually came down to individual plays that Liquid pulled off.

The headlines would have been much different if the roles were reversed. Anyways, OG is no Team Secret by any means, so their odds aren’t too one-sided. However, they are still in favor to win at x1.6 against Nigma at x2.27 odds.

Team Spirit vs Team Empire

Moving to the east, we dont exactly have an even match-up to say the least. Team Spirit will indisputably win the match versus Team Empire. However, perhaps what piqued our interest is where Team Spirit stands, and what can we expect from the International 10 champion.

Team Spirit’s most anticipated debut would certainly be the first major of the DPC 2021-22. Here, they will meet many former TI10 rivals, especially Team Secret and PSG.LGD. Hence, this match essentially gives us insight into what Team Spirit is up to, and whether if they are in fighting condition.

The good news is that Team Spirit still rocks their signature traits, versatile hero pool. We saw the boys pull off a hyper-aggressive draft against Team Unique and Puckchamp with ease. Meanwhile, Team Empire also commonly pulls off aggressive playstyles, which wouldn’t give them a viable countermeasure against Team Spirit.

Thus, the Dota 2 odds reflect well for Team Spirit at x1.07 versus Team Empire at x7.66 odds.

Virtus.pro vs PuckChamp

Oddly enough, Virtus.pro enters this match-up as the less favorable candidate for once. VP’s new roster is still inexperienced, which puts VP in a sticky situation against other seasoned squads. For instance, PuckChamp, who rose from the Lower Division bracket.

PuckChamp once again proves its diligence as a newcomer team in the DPC EEU 2021/22 by securing top seeds. While many argue that Natus Vincere and Gambit weren’t exactly strong rivals, PuckChamp’s true strength comes from their roster. This is one team that has brute-force their way against opponents with only their gameplay.

Unfortunately, while VP’s performance looks questionable, they are still a prominent EEU powerhouse. The odds reflect VP to win at x1.54 against PuckChamp with x2.41 returns. As far as we are concerned, the bookmakers are wrong here and PuckChamp will this series.

The third week of DPC 2021-22 games are not ones to miss. Many familiar powerhouses are expecting to face their long-time regional rivals, and we can expect some absolute bangers coming our way.
