‘Huge Patch’ For Tarkov Arena Coming in October

Battlestate Games recently addressed a monumental update coming to Escape from Tarkov Arena later this year. It’s a little premature for an announcement, but the team explained that in October, a ‘huge event’ will take place that’ll rework most of Tarkov Arena as we know it. In December 2023, Tarkov Arena was released alongside a €100,000 esports tournament, but since then, the game has been pushed to the sidelines by the community.

BSG isn’t willing to let the game die, though. In the latest episode of TarkovTV, BSG’s Nikita Buyanov explained that in October, several major changes are coming to Tarkov Arena. This update will drop after TwitchCon San Diego, which the Battlestate team will attend front and centre to drum up a little love for the arena-based shooter that didn’t fare too well after being released six months ago.

What’s Happening with Tarkov Arena?

In October, Tarkov Arena will be undergoing a ‘huge event’ that wasn’t fully expanded on by Nikita Buyanov. The enigmatic studio head at Battlestate refused to embellish his claims of a monumental event with more information but did offer a few core tidbits.

He explained that custom preset creation will finally make its way into the game alongside a ‘significant rework’ of the current preset system. This has long been a sticking point among players worldwide, as the inability to create a custom loadout takes away a sense of personality from Tarkov Arena, shoehorning players into running ‘the same OP kit’ every time. In the October update, the link between Tarkov Arena and Escape from Tarkov will finally go live, giving players the option of transferring equipment across the wire.

It was also highlighted that ‘Arena Crates’ will be introduced, with players competing to unlock loot boxes that they can unseal in Escape from Tarkov.

Alongside a vast host of quality-of-life improvements will be the introduction of ‘achievement linking’. That means that unlocking an achievement in Escape from Tarkov will have some impact on Tarkov Arena, such as unlocking a permanent outfit to use in the Arena itself.

The latest episode of TarkovTV yielded a huge array of changes and updates coming to the Escape from Tarkov ecosystem. However, given recent controversies, the community is having a hard time caring about what Battlestate Games has to say.
