In a monumental announcement, the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 announced that the event’s total prize pool will be $70 million. This will be the highest prize pool ever seen for any esports tournament. In fact, the esports org which wins the Club Championship will pocket $7 million alone.

For those who don’t know, the Esports World Cup one is the biggest esports tournaments globally. The event will take place over the summer, with the top esports organizations fighting to be the best team in the world. Recently the 40 esports organizations that would be a part of the Club World Cup program were also announced.
In a post on their social media channels, the EWC has defined the breakdown of the 2025 prize pool. Below is that breakdown:
While there has been an increase throughout the board, the Club Championship is alone set to reward $27 million. This is a $7 million increase since the previous edition. Additionally, the winner alone of the Club Championship is set to receive $7 million – a huge amount which will have repercussions across the ecosystem as clubs vie to sign the best players and teams.
The first significant impact of the EWC prize pool could be the salary inflation for esports players. In the past, we have already discussed VALORANT and how its addition to the EWC will result in a higher salary for players.
With less than 100 days to go for the event, a lot more is set to be announced for the EWC 2025. The prize pool, however, suggests that the hype train for the EWC has finally left the station. During the 2024 season, Team Falcons secured the highest points, making the Saudi Arabian team the inaugural champions.
