Farlight 84 is the newest competitor in the battle royale genre, and it has already gotten quite a decent following over the years in its beta period. Now that it has been released worldwide, it’s set to have a steady player base with many returning players; the question remains whether Farlight 84 is a flavor-of-the-month game or is it here to stay. It’s not uncommon for many Farlight 84 fans to feel like the game just popped out of nowhere, and all of a sudden, it’s the hottest thing on the market. To fully understand when Farlight 84 was released, we feel it’s only fitting to discuss the game’s origins first.

Developed by the Singapore-based company Miracle Games SG, developed with Unreal Engine 4, Farlight 84 is their first game. Announced back in 2020, Farlight 84 was poised to make waves in the gaming community because it felt vastly different from every other battle royale game in its time. It is set in the post-apocalyptic city called “Isle City” in 2084 (hence the ‘84’ in the name). The game features refreshing gameplay elements like increased mobility with jetpacks, a hero system, futuristic weapons, and even more futuristic vehicles. The game is filled with content to engage the player and keep them asking for more with wide eyes.
After its announcement in 2020, the few fans that heard about it were excited to see how this game would look and play. After a whole year, in 2021, the game was finally released into open beta, which was a significant relief for fans as they could finally get their hands on a working version of the game and see what the hype was about. However, this would be a major issue with the game, as it would remain in beta for almost 2 years. This was due to several factors, most of which were technical issues, as the developers took their time to ensure that their game was as perfect as possible, regardless of the delays. Then again, 2 years is quite a long time to wait, and in that time, new games like Apex Legends Mobile and PUBG New State were released, which saw a large size of the Farlight 84 player base leave.
Although, that wouldn’t last long because the patient fans were rewarded with the Farlight 84 global release date: April 24, 2023.
This finally brought the game into the limelight once again; with over a million downloads in its first week, Farlight 84 is considered a successful game.
