Fortnite Mobile Return Delayed As Epic Games and Apple Head Back To Court

Epic Games and Apple are going to court. Again. Almost five full years ago, the Epic v Apple trial shook the gaming world. It resulted in iOS devices losing Fortnite Mobile for almost five years. It has slowly worked its way back in some regions, but the USA is still without a mobile version for iOS devices. That was supposed to change, but in the meantime, the two sides of this fascinating rivalry are headed back to see a judge.

Fortnite Mobile Lands Epic Games, Apple in Court Again

According to ShiinaBR, Epic Games is going back to court with Apple. After yet another testy duel over Fortnite Mobile, the two sides will have to litigate this mess. At first, Apple was poised to let the app go live in the United States, as it had in other regions.

However, after so many days of the app being ignored and not reviewed, the developers took back the request and sent in another one. It is said that 90% of all apps are reviewed by Apple in 48 hours. Twice, Fortnite Mobile sat for more than 48 hours and was not reviewed.

In the new court case, Epic is demanding that Apple follow a previous court order. The judge presiding is going to ask why they have not done so. They can avoid the court case if they resolve the issue by Wednesday.

Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether or not they’ll do that. Additionally, they haven’t been very quick to do anything with regard to Epic and Fortnite. Therefore, the two sides are angling for another visit to court.

Barring an unforeseen change, this should put an end to the difficulty. The court is not likely to allow Apple to continue ignoring Fortnite Mobile without a reason, and they likely do not have a reason good enough to warrant this behavior. In the next few days, iOS gamers should have a lot more clarity regarding their future in the United States. At least, their future with Fortnite.
