Fortnite April Fool’s Limited-Time Event to Return

It’s less than three weeks to April 1, which means, according to a new leak, that the Fortnite April Fool’s Limited-Time Event is coming back. According to the leaks, it’s been seven years since Epic Games did anything like this, but they are focusing more on Limited Time Modes and Events than they have in the past.

Creative maps briefly took the spot of these specially designed game experiences from Epic. However, the pendulum is swinging a little bit, and it’s creeping back into the main Battle Royale mode. Here’s what we know about the upcoming joke-based Limited Time Event.

Leaker HYPEX revealed that at the April Fool’s holiday, Epic Games is going to make some interesting, sweeping changes to Fortnite. As of right now, we don’t know what those changes are going to be. We are confident that it will be prank/practical joke-related.

The last time this happened, all the way back in 2018, Epic boosted the Impulse Grenade effect by 10x. This sent players flying across the map, and there were major consequences for using them poorly. Additionally, they made Boogie Bombs increase jump height when applied. This year’s effects won’t be the same, but they’ll be in that vein.

HYPEX also noted that this event would likely have quests (like searching Golden Llamas) and probably rewards for completing or participating. Again, the details on those weren’t revealed. The leaker confirmed that there’d be a small “surprise” (though not a surprise now) update on April 1. Patch 34.21 will be released that day. Other than that, details are scarce.

This is a leak like the Fortnite Lara Croft skin, so it’s not confirmed. Epic Games hasn’t done an LTE like this in seven years. Therefore, it’s in your best interest to take this information with a grain of salt. It’s also theoretically possible that the April Fool’s joke is putting in the game files for an event that won’t actually happen. Until it’s confirmed, we can’t guarantee its arrival.
